About Shirley-Anne

With over 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, quality improvement and operational performance, Shirley-Anne has worked in several senior management positions within primary and secondary health care, including seven years as the Executive Director, Toowoomba Hospital – the largest referral hospital in the Darling Downs, Queensland. 

Shirley-Anne graduated from Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Business Studies (Finance), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Social Anthropology) and a Master of Management (Health Services). She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She is an Adjunct Associate Professor with both the Rural Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland (UQ) as well as with the School of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ).

Shirley-Anne has a passion for the social determinants of health. She is on the Board of two local not-for-profits. In January 2021, she was awarded the Australia Day Citizen of the Year Award in Toowoomba for her work with vulnerable communities.
